In fact, a wet day can make the experience feel even more adventurous. You are already wearing a wetsuit and heading into the river, so a little rain rarely makes much difference once the session begins.
Is Gorge Walking Still Fun in the Rain?
Absolutely. Rain can add atmosphere to the gorge, make waterfalls feel more dramatic and give the day the proper Welsh adventure feel. The main thing is to arrive with warm clothes for before and after the activity; all of the specialist equipment is provided for your time in the water.
When Can It Be Cancelled?
The important factor is not whether it is raining at the meeting point, but the river level and flow. After exceptionally heavy or prolonged rain, water can rise too high to run safely. This is unusual, but safety always comes first.
Rivers in this part of Wales can change quickly. Equally, they can come back down quickly once rainfall eases. That is why we monitor the conditions close to the session rather than making decisions based solely on a weather app days in advance.
What Happens If Conditions are Unsafe?
If we need to cancel because conditions are genuinely unsafe, we will contact the booking group as soon as possible to explain the options. We do not cancel simply because it is wet or because rain is forecast.
