Glamping in the Brecon Beacons!

A round glamping tent accommodation in Wales.

Camping provides lots of fun for groups and is extremely cheap in comparison to other types of accommodation; however it doesn’t sound anywhere near as extravagant as staying in a hotel.  If only you could have the lavish amenities of a hotel combined with the outdoors, right? Well, you can.  Say hello to camping’s glamorous friend, glamping!

The increasingly popular global phenomenon enables campers to experience nature without the hassle of lugging around camping equipment and spending valuable time (which could be spent drinking) pitching a tent or looking for a missing pole! (We’ve all been there).

Cosy Under Canvas, a glamping site based in Powys, provide Kata tipis in a beautiful woodland and water meadow near Hay on Wye.  Each tipi and dome sits on a wooden platform and can sleep up to six people with a double bed, double futon and roll out futon mattresses.  These are all made up with contemporary welsh blankets, cushions and throws – Cosy under Canvas put the G in glamping! Prices vary depending on time of year and whether you opt for the tipi or the dome.

Wye Glamping are an eco friendly Glampsite located on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Spend the night on a comfortable double bed in a spacious bell tent (already pitched for you) and feel at home!  The bell tent also includes a couple of futons so you’ll probably need to flip a coin.  No one will feel like they’ve got the short straw however as there are an abundance of rugs, cushions, blankets – the list goes on! Wye Glamping also offer a locally built yurt which is furnished with a king size bed and three single futons.  Whichever you decide to stay in, you will be provided with a fantastic glamping experience.

Both the yurt and the bell tent have their own kitchen hut adjacent.

Seren Retreat provides glamping in the heart of the beautiful Gower.  Stay the night in a yurt and make the most of being closer to Mother Nature but with home comforts!  Seren Retreat call their yurts, “yurt villas” as they sleep up to six people and have a wood burning stove as well as a kitchenette.  Take a look at www.serenretreat.com for further information on this luxury self catering accommodation.

If you haven’t tried glamping before, I hope you’ll try it now as it is a truly unique experience that should not be overlooked!
