What is Canyoning?

Canyoning  (also referred as canyoneering in America) typically involves walking, climbing, jumping, abseiling and swimming to navigate your way through rivers, Gorges and waterfalls in remote and rugged locations.

Our Canyoning experience includes tobogganing down rapids, traversing rock walls, jumping across boulders, scrambling up rock faces, crawling behind and jumping off waterfalls and exploring hidden caves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What fitness level or ability do I need to go Canyoning in Wales?

The actual route is just under three miles long and is at walking pace, but the terrain is challenging so you do need a basic level of fitness.

If any member of your group has a physical disability please discuss with ourselves beforehand, we will do our best to accommodate and can change the route if needed  (exclusive bookings only).

All (except one) of the challenging elements of the route are optional, no one taking part in canyoning will be forced to do anything that they are not happy with. You can simply opt out of challenges and there is always an escape route. The exception is a waterfall scramble that everybody has to get through in order to progress to the next part of the gorge…nobody has failed so far!

What is the minimum age?

This is a challenging activity and the minimum age is 10 years old, unlike some competitor companies we do not mix stag groups or similar with family groups. Please note 10-13 year olds may not be able to complete all the challenging elements of this route however easier and alternative options will always be available.
